Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about insulation or drywall? Below you can find frequently asked questions about both. Feel free to contact us if you can’t find an answer to your question!

Insulation FAQs

There are a few different types of insulation available. We install:

  • Fiberglass – Fiberglass, which is made of tiny glass fibers and has been used to insulate homes and buildings for decades, is available as blown-in/loose-fill or batts (blanket). It can be installed in many different areas of a home. Blown-in fiberglass is ideal for existing enclosed walls, open new wall cavities, unfinished attic floors and hard-to-reach areas. Batt fiberglass is typically used for unfinished walls (including foundation walls) as well as floors and ceilings.
  • Cellulose – Cellulose insulation is made from recycled newsprint and other recycled paper. Consisting of up to 80 percent recycled content and requiring less energy to make than other types of insulation, it’s one of the most environmentally friendly insulation materials available.
  • Spray foam – Due to its total coverage and the tight seal it creates, spray foam insulation is ideal for small gaps, crevices and cracks in your home’s envelope, as well as around piping and ductwork. It is applied in liquid form and dries quickly, expanding into thick foam.
  • Rigid foam – Rigid foam insulation is mainly used for new construction projects, and in our experience, it is a great solution for insulating homes and buildings and maximizing energy efficiency.

For your specific home and needs, it’s best to talk to an insulation professional. In general, however, it’s recommended to install insulation in your home’s walls and attic.

You should talk to an insulation professional, as there is no single correct answer. The amount of insulation you need depends on different factors, including where you live, how big your home is, the type of HVAC equipment you have and more.

The biggest reason to install insulation is the energy savings. Besides helping you save money and increase the energy efficiency of your home, insulation can help reduce noise and improve interior comfort levels.

How much you’ll save with insulation depends on the materials you use, the area of your home you insulate, the size of your house, etc. There are online tools you can use to calculate potential savings—and you can always talk to our insulation professionals!

Drywall FAQs

We install drywall, metal framing, acoustical tile and grid systems.

A drywall grid system tends to be quick and easy to frame. It can help save time and money compared to traditional framing. It is ideal for a variety of residential and commercial applications.

Other FAQs

Seamless gutters offer several advantages when choosing gutters. Not only do seamless gutters come in a variety of colors and complement any home, but they also:

  • Perform well and provide excellent protection
  • Are extremely durable
  • Help minimize water leaks

At Hinkle Insulation & Drywall, we install A Better Blind’s window blind products, which can be used with both windows and French doors. Their faux wood blinds:

  • Are a more affordable option
  • Are 100% UV and anti-static controlled
  • Come standard with a 3-inch crown valance
  • Feature a trapezoid bottom rail for improved closure
  • Come with mounting hardware and installation screws

Acoustical, or acoustic, ceilings—also called suspended ceilings—are commonly found in commercial architecture, from corporate offices to doctors’ offices and more. Acoustic ceiling tiles (lay-in grid systems) hang below the structural/main ceiling and use a grid layout of metal channels suspended by inverted T-bars and wiring. Tile materials used vary depending on the application. Acoustical tiles are an extremely economical ceiling solution for commercial spaces and are often installed in offices.
